I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.   If you've listened to the show, you may know that my daughter Devin has been away for a few weeks, visiting family in the Washington DC area.   She made it back home this weekend, safe and sound, and we're thanking God for that.   We had a wonderful weekend enjoying some music and fireworks, friends, and good food too!

Here at the station, we were on a holiday schedule for Monday and so I decided to take a day off on Tuesday, to extend the weekend a little bit longer.   Yesterday, I had the pleasure of getting even closer to God's Creation than normal.   As you may know, I am an active member with the Maine Island Trail Association, whose purpose is to care for, and maintain the islands off the Maine coast.  My responsabilities include caring for two islands in northern Casco Bay, which I visit frequently and monitor usage, wildlife and help clean the shoreline of any debris that might have washed up.   Now, usually, I travel via kayak.  But, yesterday, I was able to visit 7 different islands in Casco Bay via boat, and assist one of MITA's monitor skippers with his duties, all while enjoying God's Creation from a whole new perspective.

We traveled about 34 nautical miles yesterday and landed 7 different times in various spots.  We enjoyed seeing Eagles and Osprey.  Seals and fish.  Lobster pots and lobstermen.  We spent about about 6 hours going from place to place and I continued to thank God the whole time, for the awesome display of His glory here in Maine.  I know there are plenty of beautiful spots around the world, many of which I haven't seen and probably never will.   But, I was just reminded that God speaks to us all the time, thru His creation.   Don't miss it.  Stop and notice it.   His voice may just come to you in a wild flower growing beside the road, or in a rocky part of the coast, or in the tree covered mountain.   It may come to you in the laughter of a child, or thru the sound of the waves crashing on the shore.   Take the time today, to listen to what He is sharing with you.   I was reminded of that yesterday, and just  wanted to remind you of that today.
